Change the World with Kindness

World Kindness Week, November 6-12, 2011, is dedicated to celebrating the little things we do for others.

A ‘random act of kindness’ is any small (or large, if you wish) action you take that’s a gift to someone else: letting someone have the ‘better’ parking spot, letting someone out of a driveway in front of you, speaking respectfully and gently to a homeless person, thanking someone who’s been kind to you in the past, cheerfully calling that family member you don’t like so much, giving a small gift card to someone with a lot less than you, picking up some litter (or that pile of dog shit that someone else left lying on your neighbor’s lawn), inviting someone to dinner you ‘would never have in your home.’

You can celebrate this special week by giving (even in small ways) to others and making a difference in the lives of those around you.
